The Slovak Ambassador Ivan Lančarič and Czech Ambassador Milan Hovorka hosted a festive reception on September 24th 2019 to mark the National Days of the Slovak Republic and Czech Republic in the premises of the residence of the Slovak Ambassador. Representatives of Indian central government, members of diplomatic corps, business, academia and science partners, media and Slovak and Czech citizens living in India were present at the occasion. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, kindly consented to be the Chief Guest. The two Ambassadors were also extremely humbled by the presence of the granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Smti Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee.

A glittering evening featured the songs and dances by the Slovak Folk Group Zemplín and Czech Ballet Group F.X.Salda Theatre. The national anthems sung jointly in Slovak and Czech languages at the very beginning of the reception represented an uplifting message of friendship between the three nations. Joint reception was attended by more than 800 guests, who in addition to a very rich cultural programme enjoyed also a wide selection of Slovak and Czech specialties.

"India Empire" in its September edition published an interview with the Slovak Ambassador Ivan Lančarič giving an extensive presentation of the Slovak Republic.
