Today (4 April 2024), State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Rastislav Chovanec, received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Slovakia, Erkan Özoral on his inaugural visit. The meeting confirmed the interest of both countries to continue to develop cooperation with the aim to strengthen trade and investment opportunities in Slovakia and Turkey. It followed a visit by the Head of Slovak diplomacy, Juraj Blanar, who held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, in early March.

On 1-2 March 2024, Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, participated in the third Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Turkey, organised under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. More than 20 heads of state and government, over 60 foreign ministers and two dozen representatives of international organisations attended the platform aimed at finding peaceful solutions. During the event, the head of Slovak diplomacy, Juraj Blanár, held a number of important bilateral meetings with foreign partners with whom he discussed mutual relations, new opportunities for development and the current foreign policy situation.

On 24 June, the Slovak Republic commemorates the Day of Remembrance and Respect to Victims of the Communist Regime - all those wrongly convicted and imprisoned between 1948 and 1989. On this date, 24 June 1954, a doctor, political prisoner and Catholic dissident Silvester Krčméry was unjustly convicted of alleged treason, after being tortured.
