Naše poslanie

Stála misia Slovenskej republiky pri OSN v New Yorku je zastupiteľský úrad SR, ktorý  reprezentuje SR a jej záujmy na pôde hlavných orgánov OSN, agentúr, fondov a programov systému OSN so sídlom v New Yorku a rozvíja s nimi vzťahy. Prostredníctvom stálej misie dochádza tiež k zapojeniu a účasti SR na medzivládnych zasadnutiach a rokovaniach pod záštitou OSN, ktoré prebiehajú v sídle organizácie v New Yorku. Misiu vedie mimoriadny a splnomocnený veľvyslanec – stály predstaviteľ Slovenskej republiky pri OSN. Súčasný stály predstaviteľ SR pri OSN, veľvyslanec Michal Mlynár, sa ujal svojej funkcie odovzdaním poverovacích listín generálnemu tajomníkovi OSN Antóniovi Guterresovi dňa 18. augusta 2017.  Viac informácií o poslaní stálej misie

UNESCO has been helping to protect Slovakia's cultural and historical heritage for 31 years

On 9 February 1993, the independent Slovak Republic became a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Slovakia's accession to UNESCO, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, highlighted Slovakia's activities and prestigious achievements in one of the most renowned specialised agencies in the United Nations system.

Minister Juraj Blanár: Entry into the UN was a strong sign of recognition of the independent Slovak Republic

Thirty-one years ago, an independent Slovak Republic was admitted to the United Nations (UN) as a full member. On 19 January 2024, in commemoration of the anniversary of Slovakia's accession to the United Nations, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, stressed the importance of Slovakia's inclusion in the international organisation, which currently associates 193 countries of the world.
