25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange in the Slovak Republic

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange in the Slovak Republic, a reception took place at the residence of the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United States on October 1, 2019. Ambassador I. Korčok welcomed the distinguished guests: Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Program Caroline Casagrande, Executive Director for Fulbright Commission Nora Hložeková, Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations, Ambassador Michal Mlynár, Fulbright alumna, Director of the Cultural Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Jana Tomková. Ambassador I. Korčok emphasized the importance of the Fulbright programs and the achieved results. He thanked to the first American Ambassador to Slovakia, Theodore Russell, who signed the executive agreement to promote the educational, research and cultural exchanges between the United States and the Slovak Republic through the Fulbright Program and helped to the development of Slovak-American relations. Selected Fulbright alumnus - the Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations, Ambassador Michal Mlynár, Advisor to the Executive Director, Angela Solíková, Shannon Conheady from Senior Program Assistant at AMIDEAST - shared their experiences how the Fulbright Program influenced their life and professional career.
