On 3 and 4 April 2024, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Member States discussed preparations for the Alliance's July Summit in Washington, strengthening the collective defence, assistance to Ukraine and deepening cooperation with partners from the Indo-Pacific region. The Slovak delegation was led by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár.

Today (3 April 2024), the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, held talks with the British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, on the first day of the meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation member states in Brussels. The partners discussed preparations for the Washington NATO summit with regards to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and also raised the issue of strengthening mutual cooperation in the economic field.

Last year, the Slovak Republic participated in 16 foreign missions, operations and other international crisis management activities involving 460 members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic (AF SR), the Police Force of the Slovak Republic and civilian experts. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic provided information about this in the Report on the activities of the Slovak Republic in international crisis management activities for the year 2023, which was taken note of by the Government of the Slovak Republic during its 26th session today (3 April 2024).

Today (7 March 2024), the Kingdom of Sweden officially joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, thus formally becoming a member of NATO after the previous ratification of the Accession Protocol by the 31 member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the delivery of the accession documents.

On 7 February 2024, Marek Eštok, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, held talks in Brussels with the National Security Advisers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) member states. The main topic of the meeting was the preparations for the Alliance Summit to be held in July, in Washington.

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, participated in a two-day meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 28 and 29 November 2023 in Brussels. After the meeting, the Minister stated that it was crucial for Slovakia to continue strengthening its collective defence.

On 28 November 2023, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, addressed the North Atlantic Council in Brussels.

On 13 September 2023, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Wlachovský gave an address at the conference entitled "STRATCOM - Slovakia's Success Story" held in Bratislava. There are several myths related to the term of “strategic communication”, as Wlachovský stated at the conference. He added that it is not a reaction to disinformation or publishing posts on social networks.

On 11 and 12 July 2023 Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Wlachovský, as a member of the delegation led by President Zuzana Čaputová, attended the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) summit in Vilnius. The main topics of the summit were strengthening the Alliance´s collective defense including the security and defensiveness of NATO´s Eastern Flank and the future of the relations with Ukraine.

Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Miroslav Wlachovský, attended the two-day informal North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) ministerial meeting in Oslo, Norway, which ended on 1 June 2023.
